More Half Truths from GRF & PCM

By May 17th, GRF & PCM plan to destroy our "GLOBE" which has been a signature of Leisure World for 40 years.
The reason being given is; The judgment against GRF & PCM by Heidi Cortese (the daughter of the founder and creator of Leisure World) demands it's removal by May 17th.
Then, residents received a copy of the judgment and learned that this was not true. Refer to Page 3, Line 20 of the judgment which can be found on the
www.rvoice.org website.
In lieu of the removal of the GLOBE, a written letter requesting permission to continue to display the GLOBE probably would result in permission to do so. Our Board has decided that they would prefer the destruction of this landmark (at a cost of 10's of thousands of dollars) rather than "grovel" before the Cortese family by asking for permission to continue to display it. Who is considering the owners in this decision?
At least one board member, who is an attorney, has requested that attorneys for the homeowners association contact Ms. Heidi Cortese's representatives and try to obtain permission to continue to display the Globe at it's current location. Ms. Cortese owns the trademark Globe symbol, and permission must be received to keep the Globe on display. We are optimistic this might be settled quickly and the Globe will stay instead of being destroyed.
Now residents and concerned community friends and other residents of south Orange County are planning a rally Monday afternoon. The rally location is just north of the intersection of El Toro Road and Moulton Parkway, on the west side of Moulton. The Globe is visible from Moulton.
We are also planning to attend the Tuesday morning meeting of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. They meet in Santa Ana, at 9:30AM, and Public Comments will likely be before the noon break. We intend to ask the County if this famous icon can be formally designated as a County historically monument.
